Variegated Fallopia

I just added this plant to my garden this spring and it has done quite well until just yesterday. I noticed I am getting holes in the leaves.... Seems like some bug is having a free lunch.. I can not see anything on the plant, What can I do to stop this??

Thanks..

Looked up your plant and found this quote:

"Aphids, slugs, and snails may occur."

Should be easy to treat for any of these.

Also look for japanese beetles, I've noticed they are eating holes into the japanese knotweed and persicaria polymorpha which are both closely related to your fallopia.
