For the last umpty-um years I've noticed a cool down about the 10th-15th of August. (May warm up significantly later but always those couple chillier nights.) It is evident yearly as the cucurbits tend to reduce in set for a couple weeks following. This year, tho, the period is a little longer and slightly earlier than what seems typical. Nice for folks, maybe a little tougher for some plants.

Tomatoes seem roughly a good couple weeks later ripening than last year here in central PA. That depends a little on the variety and when you got them planted.

The coller mornings and evenings has been beautiful! Gotten me out of the AC and into the garden more, for sure. Hope it remains for the rest of the season.

I agree with motherearth, I do enjoy the cooler weather. On the other hand, I am having trouble with my tomatoes this year too. Lots of green fruit, that takes a long time to ripen or rots on the vine.

I've got like 20 green tomatoes and none are ripening for me yet and these are the beefsteak variety. I don't mind the weather but I guess my tomatoes do.
