Munstead Lavender Question

I have 9 or 10 large Munstead Lavender plants that have done really well over the years. They are loaded with blooms both in spring and again in the fall.

Usually I dead head the spring flowers once the bees have done feasting. This year I did not get around to doing this from all the rain and a hectic schedule. Now the new branches have sprouted up around the dead flowers. If I try pruning the old flowers I'll end up loping off all the new branches. I could always go and snip one flower at a time but that would probably take me all week or so.

My question is, has anyone not deadheaded their Lavender before and still had a Fall flowering?

Thanks,

Jim
