| Is it too late to transplant some hydrangeas that are in pots? I had rooted some branches last year and dug them up this spring and put them into pots while I thought about where their new home would be. However, I never got around to getting them into the ground.
Now that it's September should I put them in the ground or just bring the pots inside for the winter? Thanks, Jim |

| I don't think it's too late. We've still got about a month before the first frost, right? Should be enough time for them to grow some roots. |

| Just make sure you keep watering them thoroughly throughout the fall and winter (especially if it's dry and little snow) and mulch. I transplanted some oakleafs late last fall, got busy keeping 2 acres raked and forgot to mulch. The roots survived thankfully and they had to start over from the bottom up. |
