| I live in South Central Pennsylvania, on the west shore of the Susquehanna River. I have a huge sloped lawn going down to the river. It gets lots of sun. The top half of the slope is grass, the rest is crappy vegetation. I'd like to plant a ground cover, especially where the grass is but I don't want to spend lots and lots of money just to have it fail. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

| Clumps of ornamental grasses would be pretty, but not cheap. Monarda might do well, and some varieties are native. It spreads. Both are fairly tall plants. Are you looking for flowers, or just green? |

| yes, ornamental grasses do look good. Add mugo pine along with the grasses for variety in texture. It grows low and wide. As far as groundcover look into sedum dragonblood. It does well in sun. I agree with Carol, not cheap. |
