Bringing Nasturtiums Inside for the Winter??

Posted by vlf4230 z6 Pa (My Page) on

Is this even possible? I thought about bringing inside some of my smaller Nasturtiums and having them winter inside.

Has anyone ever done this before? Any tips? I've looked on line but found no mention of growing Nasturtiums inside other than to start early for spring.

Thanks!

Jim

Well, it doesn't hurt to try. Be careful digging them up. Don;t like roots disturbed. Remember they like it on the cooler side, so keep them in a cool spot in house with enough light, and let us know how they do.

I've wondered this myself. I love Nasturtiums, but as PP said, they would probably be very difficult to transplant. Please let us know how it went!

It turns out that the Nasturtiums did not survive. However, it was from the vines being just too tempting for a 1 year old cat that we have and not from "natural" causes.

So for not it remains an unknown. Ah well...maybe next fall.
