Magnolia Grandiflora

I am a transplant from Dallas. I had two very large Magnolia grandiflora's planted in my front yard in Dallas, one just 12 feet or so from the house.

Yesterday, in a fit of fall planting fury I planted a 15 gallon Magnolia grandiflora about 9 feet from the edge of my Montgomery County house. It is in a site that faces southwest and sits in full sun.

Does anyone want to guess how tall this tree will eventually become. This site will not tolerate a 90 foot tree.

I have several gardening books. A British book recommended planting such a tree "against a sunny wall." Other books said the tree in our climate would reach about 30 feet. I just want to make sure that in my haste, I did not plant the dern thing too close to my house.
