how did you folks like the weather

I live in Westmoreland county and this growing season has been the rainest/coldest that I can remember in 52 years of gardening. It has been a very dismal year for most crops. The ones that did do well like potatoes probably will not store well. Oh well there is next year. John

We're definitely in a wet pattern,,,makes one wonder how our winter will be this year. Lot's of snow? I would like a foot of snow and for it to persist on the ground. The heaving, resulting from freeze/thaw is frustrating. I try to remember to get out there and mulch after the ground freezes, but best laid plans....

the weather in Lancaster county was and is dismal. And now it's supposed to freeze hard tonight. with the saturation of the soil, I know I have to check for frost heave tomorrow. I also would like that layer of snow cover all winter. It's the best thing for the plants. I guess we better watch what we wish for. Might end up with more than a foot of snow cover all winter at the rate the weather is going now.
