The Christmastree shop up at the shoppes at Montage has their spring bulbs on clearance.... right next to the door when you walk in.... Everything was marked down to $0.97. Nothing too exciting, but I picked up 225 mixed crocus, 40 mini rockgarden daffs, 50 red darwin tulips, 50 yellow and 22 generic yellow daffs. for under $11. I was pleased.... now I just have to plant them all.

Weeeeeellllll. Actually I have to plant all them plus the assorted perennials and shrubs I bought last weekend when Perennial Pointe closed for the season. It was 70% off, how could I resist?

But I did dig up the cannas and dahlias and cleaned up all the frosted plants from the front yard. I got the shredder working and was doing good until I plugged it with too many canna and bannana leaves. Now I have to figure out why it won't start again!

Putting the garden to rest for the winter seems so much easier in books. Nobody ever mentions the trips for gas and new oil and the broken shovel handle and the stray toys and all the dirt under your fingernails because you didn't think you needed gloves. Then you have to throw everything in the garage quick because DW made dinner plans with another couple and she still has to take a shower but the baby need to eat lunch.....
hmmmmm. Maybe I'll plant something tomorrow.
and to be on the safe side I gave a friend $3 to pick up a few more daffodil bulbs.
