We have several bird feeders and usually have many birds but this year they are missing.

Goldfinch---Blackcapped Chickadees----Tufted Tit mouse---little House Wrens----Cardinals and a few others that are regular visitors.

Just wondered if anyone else is having this problem

Thanks in advance----Florence

Right now my feeders look the same way. I think it might be because a lot of flowers have recently gone to seed. The birds will probably eat these first and find our feeders once the supply starts to dwindle. Now that nights are dropping below freezing the activity is bound to pick back up. Around a week and a half ago I saw my first dark-eyed junco of the season, so things seem to be right on track. Hang in there. The birds will want our seed soon.

After the storm in the beginning of the week we finally have birds! In a span of about a half an hour we saw an unidentified woodpecker up in the old oak, black-capped chickadees, titmice, dark-eyed juncos, cardinals, bluejays, white-throated sparrows, and house sparrows. I posted a few pictures of what we could see out our window on my garden blog.

I hope your birds have returned as well. If not, it will be soon.

As soon as the cold set in and the snow came down we got a lot of the smaller visitors.... haven't seen a single cardinal, bluejay or sparrow though, aparently we are missing the bigger birds!

Ooops, as I write this I see a cardinal out there. Never mind!
