Bright indirect light???

Hi! I just bought a couple plants (Areca palm, sago palm, and red edged dracaena) and I'm trying to figure out where to place these beauties in my dining/living room. The tags all say bright indirect light but I'm not entirely sure what that means. Do I half close the blinds for a dappled effect or open the blinds fully and put up a sheer curtain? Or is bright indirect light the area immediately beyond the direct sunlight? My dining/living room has 5 south facing windows and 3 west facing windows. Would that make the entire room bright indirect light except where there is direct sunshine? I can't do much about the dry air so I really want to make sure I at least get the lighting right. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
