Anyone Growing Palms in Australia?

Hey, im just curious if theres anyone growing palms down here in AUS? Ifso what kind?
Im in melbourne and ive been told Palms such as Christmas palms and Red Sealing wax palms wont do well down here which is a shame but just curious about what others are growing

I would dare to say there may be more palm enthusiasts in Australia than even in the US... and they grow everything! Lucky people!

I agree, there are tons of palms growing all over Australia and in my opinion Australia has tons of beautiful native palms! Melbourne is probably too cold to grow most of the really tropical palms like Christmas palms, Coconut palms, etc.. but there are plenty of palms that will do great for you!

I'd think that Caroyta, Brahea, Chamaedorea, Sabal, Arenga, Butia, Washingtonia, Phoenix, Trachycarpus, Syagrus and Livistonia are a few of the many palm genus that you should look into!

For an even better tropical look you can try things like Bismarkias, Licuala ramsayi (the most cold tolerant of the Licualas) and Pritchardia hildebrandtii are a good start.
