let them dry out, than use a sharp knife or something to scrape away any of the fruit remains, after that, let them soak in water for 24 hours. and you can either put them into vermiculite and bury just slightly and every once in a while spray with a mist to dampen, or place in moist paper towel and place inside a zip lock bag for a week or two and monitor for roots. hope that helps. cheers

Try using some bottom heat to keep soil temps between 85-95 F.. Makes a difference, especially in Winter...in Wa..

At first I was going to advise not to wait too long to plant so the seed will still be viable--thinking fresher was better, then I came across this attached article--amazing!! Dates are among my favorites!

Question: are palm seeds generally this viable and resistent to the passage of time, or is this specific to Date palms??
