Best variety of coco for semi-arid climates?

Is there an actual difference in low humidity and dry-heat tolerance in different types of coco varieties? Anyone notice any diference when you takes yours inside or when there is an extended period of low humidity outside?

Just rather curious. I never had luck with any type of coco other than the Golden Malayan. The others usually die by the end of summer. I have yet to run into a fresh shipment of them though. I always seem to run into them some time later and they are never in the best of health. Even ones that look more than healthy enough to be saved never make it long and end up dying for one reason or another. Makes me curious if they are less tolerant to dry-heat and low humdity or if they were gonna die wether or not I tried to save them.

Now, on the other hand Golden malayans usually don't give me any probelms what so ever. They take dry-heat well (100f's+ frequently) and low humidity (below 20%) as long as they are watered.
