Hello,
I am headed down to Encinitas, CA (near San Diego) tomorrow, and was looking for a place with a good selection or hard to find Palms & Cycads. I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of any good places in the area?

Jungle music palms and cycads is in Encintias. I think you have to make an appointment, but it possibly has the most variety for palms on the west coast. Pretty much every palm that can grow in So cal will be there! They are pretty expensive, but if your looking for something rare, they probably have it. I've never been there though.

Thanks for the tip, that was actually the main reason we were heading there! Someone had mentioned it to us. I also read that Barrels and Branches is pretty good as well.

Anyone have any others near here?

I highly recommend Jungle Music. Yeah, they're expensive, but he has amazing robust healthy specimens. I have brought many a palm from there to my garden in Southern NM and all have done well. Phil the owner is an amazingly knowledgeable plantsman, and an ER doc to boot.
