Not too soon to fertilize King palms?

Posted by stanofh (My Page) on

Well, its now in the low 60's,days are longer and these cool tolerant palms seem to be asking for a boost.
Any King growers who think it would be a good idea?

I am not a King Palm grower and would ask why you think its asking for a boost? Yellow fronds?

If you're zone 9 or higher and have given fertizilers before I would say do it since your palm-sense is telling you so.

What zone are you? Zone 8 should wait :-)

z10a..the days arent very warm-about 60-64 so far. Nights have been mild, and thats what is a bit different for here in the SF bay area. This mornings low was 53.
Its a popular palm in soucal,so I wondered if they get a jump this early with fertilizing.
