It does look more like Dypsis lutescens, Golden Cane. Mine have flecks on the petiole like that, although there are a lot of variations in that species. Kentia is the common name for Howea forsteriana. There is a Northern Kentia, but it's Hydriastele ramsayi.

Golden Cane is a clumping palm (multi-stemmed), Kentia is single trunked. A clump of Kentias in a pot would be from multi-sowings. Golden Canes are also sometimes multi-sown, individual seedlings take a while to produce suckers and this way you get the clumping instantaneously.

Ok thanks, ive had to reposition it but in away im pleased it is an Ddypsis. Ive not had a young one before and will relish the challenge.
For some reason I thought small Dypsis looked like palour but obviously not.

If its not expensive- its always the Dypsis. You would think Howea would be also found very cheap..they can grow in the same Washy and CIDP climates. And..its been around for well over a century.
I guess there is far more inexpensive Dypsis tropics real estate then the subtropical Howea lands.
