I purchased some bottle palm seed but when they grow they lacked the red colored stem so what do you think this palm will be?

Too early to tell exactly what it is, but it definitely does not have any notable bottle palm characteristics so I don't think it is even in the same genus as bottle palms! I hope it's a nice palm anyways! It looks healthy so far. -Alex

Do you mean Hyophorbe lagenicaulis? I wasn't aware that their seedlings had a red stem. But any seedlings at that size can be very difficult to positively identify, especially if you feel the seeds were mislabelled.

Hi This is one I grew from seed the bottle form takes about 5 years to develop and varies considerably between palms. Don't ever remember any red at any stage. Are you thinking Chambeyronia?/ The develop a changeable red frond with some age. gary
