I don't know about the palm itself, but from my experience, indoor potted palms with cobwebs often mean that there are spider mites infesting it. Regular misting or the occasional trip to the shower can keep them in check. Make sure the undersides of the fronds get washed. I used to take a moist paper towel and wipe the individual leaves on each fronds. They'd be red from spider mite remains.

i would agree that it is a queen palm and that it probably has spider mites. how long has it been inside?

It's kind of a strange looking Queen Palm because Queen palm fronds (ends) usually are "dripping" down. I lost record what it was when I bought this and several others as the label just took off with the wind.

It's been inside of a greenhouse for a couple months, but I left windows closed in the greenhouse for a couple weeks and it accumulated quite some moisture on the ceiling and was dripping down on all palms and some palms got those "cobwebs" all over their fronds covered like duck feet.

Thanks for the advise how to clean them. I cleaned a bit by hand but was wondering whether those "cobwebs" can be infectious to other plants and to humans. And can those spider mite cobwebs kill the plant?
