type of fan palm?

Hi,

I very recently picked up (what I'm assuming is) a potted fan palm from a local store, and am hoping that someone might be able to positively identify this type of plant for me.

It was on death row in the store, and had clearly been neglected in a big way, so although it is doing much better than it was when I got it last week, the pictures may not be indicative of what it SHOULD look like in optimum health (the leaves feel kind of papery, and the tips are a bit crispy and brown).

Initially I thought it might be a European fan palm, but from the pictures I've seen online, I'm leaning more towards Chinese fan palm? Any ideas?

It stands about 4ft tall and as you can see, although the fingers of the uppermost leaves are quite defined, the lower leaves have far fewer 'tines', and sometimes none at all.

As well, the 'trunk' is in fact a separate series of stalks, rather than one single gnarly base.

Thanks!:)
