Help with unwell Areca palm

HI all,

I've had this palm for about six months now. It's not very well, probably to do with the fact that it doesn't get a lot of light. It gets watered about once a week or so.

How should I look after it properly? I have attached a pic. I've had to cut off a few of its stems because they died, but there are still some left, as you can see.

I think you might be over watering it. Is there standing water in the dish? Check the palm for spider mites. They leave little webs on the undersides of leaves. I think the light is fine since it is near a window.

This doesn't look like an Areca palm, but rather a Kentia Palm. Kentias do not like to be overwatered or standing water.

Yes, there was some standing water. I'll drain it. How often should it be watered? Anything else I can do?

Water once a week or when the soil is dry. Let the oalm dry out first. In stsnding water the roots will rot.
