Pindo after winter

So I need some help with my pindo palm. I planted it last spring and wrapped it for the winter. It isn't quite time to unwrap the palms, but (we still have lows around 42 at night) with the warm weather lately (76-82F) I wanted to check on them. ALL the windmills seem to be good. The pindo has green fronds on the outer layer, but on the inside the new set on fronds was mostly brown. I heard that you could check the health by seeing if the middle frond pulled and it did; however, there was some green on the bases on the fronds. I am not sure if it is dead or alive. I will try to get pictures up tomorrow. Also, what is the deal with putting fungicides on them. Will the copper fungicide (or what ever it was called) help my pindo?? Or should I just wait a few more weeks??
