Yes, I had figured that after reading here awhile but PALM is SO much easier to spell.
So, the cycad in question looks much different than the cycad it is planted next to shown in link.

Hum, years to produce each set? Well, then the Cycad next to it is making up for the sick one's shortcomings, it put out three sets of new growth last year. No, I have never fertilized them. What is the best type or mixture?

The soil where I live has a lot of sand thru it and it is alkaline. So in my planting areas I mix a HUGE amount of organic material with the soil turning it under about 3 feet deep. Then when I go to plant I also fill the hole up halfway w/ potting soil & dirt for rest of fill. Even with that though I am sure that they are getting nutrient starved.

I have a similar Sago (Cycad) that did not flush fro almost 2 years,
you can use a high N fertilizer like lawn food to force a flush or wait
until the weather heats up-a lot of times they just grow on their own
schedule so....you can be patient and wait or push it.

A regular balanced palm fertilizer is probably better in the long run
but if you want to see it grow-try the lawn(high N) fertilizer....there are
some threads about this in the archives here you can look up.
