Sabal Birmingham spear leaf drying up

islandbreeze

I have a potted sabal Birmingham I kept over winter in my garage with the rest of my potted tropicals. It had some leaf dessication, with leaves drying up and turning a pale green compared to the live green tissue. The older fronds were the first to go. Then the tips of the newer fronds, and now the newest leaf, which isn't even opened all the way yet. Temps were not an issue. Has to be a moisture issue. What does everybody think? Too dry or too wet? It is in well draining soil, but I did water it several times over the winter, because the older fronds started to die, so I figured it was too dry. I can post a pic if need be.
