stunted fronds on sago

My sago has been in a very large pot for 4 years and has done pretty well. This year, however, the fronds are poking up about 1/2 inch and then stalling. They turn brown and become hard. I did not feed it for about 6 months --- could that be the problem?

In my experience, you don't have to feed a sago to get it to flush. Could it have experienced frost while it was flushing? Or possibly it wasn't provided water?

Islandbreeze, no there was no frost when it was flushing...maybe a watering issue then.
