Hi, my name is Bobby and I live in Tucson AZ and i planted 20-15gallon canary island date palm along my angled drive way about a year ago with what I think was too much fertilizer (yes the fertilizer was added when planting the palm trees, 7-20lb bags were used for the 20 palms) IâÂÂm not sure how exactly the fertilizer was mixed into the compost at the time of planting; but my palms have somewhat failed to add new palm shoots; The individual palm fronds look good, just not getting bigger. I have attached a get pics.

Any advice on getting my date palms back on track?

Fertilizer that used was :
Vigoro 20 lb. Palm, Ixora and Ornamental Plant Food

compost used:
NCOMP Our number 1 seller, this "happening" compost is made from green matter: grass, leaves and shrub trimmings, bark and sawdust. Gypsum is added as a soil conditioner. Excellent garden soil amendment and ground cover. This humus-like soil booster provides a correct balance of nutrition, organic matter, and particularly bacteria, that are vital to plant nutrition to the soil.
