Royal Palm transplant

A family member was doing work on his yard (Sarasota, Fla) and asked if I would like a Royal Palm seedling he was digging up.

I said I would love one. I thought it was a seedling but this seedling is about 18-20 ft. It is skinny but has a full canopy.

My husband and I can't plant this tree. We can barely move it. Not terribly heavy just very long. I don't know what to do with it. My family member said to just dispose of it - easier said than done.

I would assume if we could get it in the ground, it would have to be staked securely as it would blow over.

I don't know if there are members on GW from Sarasota who would be interested in this tree. I would be happy to find a home for it rather than letting it die. I can't even put it out in the trash.

I have it leaning against a large oak in the shade. The root ball doesn't seem very big and is mostly bare rooted.
