how can i save my areca palm?

I got this areca palm some time ago and 1 week ago it started to develop brown/black leaves.The brown tips are from a mistake of mine i put the palm when i first got it near a sunny windows but now it is in a more shady place.I think the cause it may be overwatering but it started to develop these leaves when i didn't water it so much and they keep spreading like a disease.I also have another palm a Chamaedorea elegans and i water them the same and elegans is very healthy.

Unfortunately Areca palms as houseplants can be very difficult. They want bright light and high humidity, like outdoors in Miami where many are commercially grown. Those tips aren't from too much light.....probably a watering issue.
