Pindo Palm Sick - Trunk Cutting Help

Julie8000

I have a large pindo in ground in Houston area. The picture is hard to see, but the Center is totally brown, and the entire tree looks bad. No new growth or anything coming out of the center at all. was reading and looking at pictures of the trunk cutting as a possible last ditch help to save it. i have attached a picture of the center. If I should cut, what is best tool to do so. It is quite large and was not sure what to do from looking at some of the posted pictures of the tree cuts. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to save it if any way possible
