What's with everyone having problems with Sago recently????

Those are leaves, not branches. Hard to tell from the photo, but yours looks like it's been growing poorly, with lack of light and probably a poor soil mix. When cycads aren't able to grow well (and they grow slowly compared to other plants), they will sometimes start pulling nutrients away from old leaves. These are NOT houseplants. It should be outdoors for as many months as possible if you want it to grow well.

Placing your plant in the sun is a good thing, but the old leaves will quickly fry because they are not used to it. Cut off the old growth, give it a high nitrogen fertilizer, and sometime this summer your plant will put out new leaves if it is "happy".
