Not sure what happened to it, I had the same problem to my betel nut palm a few years back. The entire palm leaned over and it basically rotted from the base up. I know kentia palms are especially vulnerable to a disease that causes it to tilt over like that, I wonder if Butias can also get it?

wind damage after taking outside with current leaf etiolation? I get wind damage like that a lot. Leaning palm syndrome is another possibility but never seen that in a Butia.

If there's no spear-pull I'd agree that it's the wind. After growing sheltered and in shade the fronds would have elongated and been a bit weaker. Outdoors they'd have little resistance to the wind. Otherwise, it looks reasonably good.
