Windmill Palm

Is there a right or wrong way to trim off the lower fronds of a windmill palm. Some were dammaged in shipment and some just look like they are declining. New ones are starting up pretty quickly on the top. Purchased five footers on line this spring and haven't done anything to them other than stick them in the ground and water.

I just cut them about an inch away from trunk. I use sharp clippers. Good luck and post photos.

to keep you palm growing fast only trim of leaves that are dead and dried up. If you still insist on pruning don't remove healthy green fronds
