Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy a not too small size of Trachycarpus latisectus (3-5 Gallon) online? Also, why do some nurseries have to have inspections and certificates before sending to Washington state?
Thanks. |

I bought a 1/2 gallon latisectus last year that didn't make it through the winter inside, from a seller on ebay called "mb palms." I just searched ebay and didn't see anything (at the moment), but my guess would be that some small ones (quart-1 gallon) should pop up at some point. I haven't seen anything in the 3-5 gallon range for sale with the latisectus as it's still a relatively obscure palm.

I got 3 from the same seller on e-bay,I checked with them a while back and they said they would have some more *soon*.I agree with fr8,check e-bay periodically, you can also google it for sources like Nearly Native Nursery, they have some one gallons fro $18,I believe, not sure if they deliver.I am looking for some T.latisectus too so,I will let you know if I find some.

Thank you fellows. I may change my mind about getting one because I talked to a seller in WA state where I live and he said it won't make it in Winter here (z8). I guess info on the internet isn't very accurte:-)

Probably not as hardy as Fortunei but hard to believe with some moisture protection to the crown the first few years that it would not survive Zone 8.These were discovered growing at the Windemere Hotel in Darjeeling where frost and snow are very common in winter.
