Indoor coconut a twin to outdoor King palms..

Now that its warm enough I put out the indoor coconut and was struck how similar it is to my King palms-even the shade of green is identical. Indoors, coconuts grow narrower fronds that are more King palm like then outdoor Coconuts!.Its fronds stretch out near 7'.

Thanks jie rine. I bought it just a few months ago-January I think. A good deal at $24(H.D). I know I haven't seen any near that size for sale before or since. Summer to fall outdoors, indoors in winter where low sun will bathe it. Could be long term. It's what I hope.

Wow, with this hot weather, i got a very quick frond opening.I hit over 108f. Hows your coconut doing?

I notice that it has turned a darker green-plus I tossed palm fertilizer on it (Ixora brand?)something I feared like death(for the palm-lol) itself,to do in winter,or even with all the cloudy spring days we had.
Im starting to think I just might get a real trunking dwarfish coconut palm one day out of it.

Ya, hope it works out for you. I will probably plant my coconut palm in the ground, but never let it take on the winter alone.
