Full StoryHello all,
New to the forum with a question about a cycas circinalus log I found on the side of the road. It is about six feet long and 10 - 12 inches in diameter. It appears to have broken off at the base (no roots) and have been suffering from some rot in the trunk at the base (where it broke). Can I cut the rot off (basically the bottom 1 foot), and still hope for it to root? It is a huge cycad and I would hate to see it die.
That's the end of my question. I lived in San Diego for ten years before moving to Maui and was getting into palms and cycads. This queen sago would have been a prize in San Diego!
Aloha,
Kala
