I checked out the link below and a few others. From what I have seen and read I can presume this is a young group of plants or because it is getting limited light it is slow growing? Would it possiblly do better if I were to but it in a pot putting the pot in the ground in this same location?

Past growing experience has been with palms as houseplant(was never good with them, know why now), plus lived in Ohio up until 2 1/2 yrs ago.

That's a great link, haven't seen it before. I have a lot of these of various sizes, they're quite an easy palm here. I think there's a danger in putting them in a pot and then putting that back in the ground. The roots could go through the drainage holes, block them, and strangle themselves. That would leave you with a palm in a pot with no drainage. I've never tried it but suspect that could be the outcome.

Went out and moved all the lava rock and oak leaves away from the base. Used the lava rock to give it its own little boarder as this bed is getting mulched with the remaining oak leaves as I start to extend the front bed along the side of the house. Have to recheck the link I posted as to fertilizer....glad I saved it some where..hehe.
