| I'd like to find out what this palm is. I looked throughout the book and couldn't find a reference. It is a photo taken somewhere in Florida and it obviously grows in the shade since it has a larg oak growing over it. Thanks for your help. |

| That's not a lot to go on, but my guess would be Livistona chinensis. |

| I found the plant index for your publication online. There are only 7 palms in the index, using latin and common names: Costa Rican palm/Chamaedorea spp. Based on that list, I am uncertain. Can you tell on the cover photo if the petioles are armed or not? I suppose it's even possible the plant in the photo is not listed in the index. |

| Well, it is definitely not any palm from that index. Probably L. Chinensis as stated above as it is so common. But it could it possibly be Tracycarpus martianus? |
