And here it is a few weeks ago, finally suckering and nice and hardy now. Hardly gets any water and doesn't seem to mind.

Here it is from across the street... still a pretty small palm right at the corner of the yard there next to the Parajubaea and Macrozamia reidlei

That's great, i have to admit i'm not sure exactly what kind of palm it is. I'll have to look it up. it's always extra special when you start it yourself from seed.

It looks great by the way. It actually seems like it has gained a lot of size for only 6 years. I wonder if they're really as cold hardy as they're said to be, and how they deal with winter moisture.

Beautiful palm! It used to be considered one of the "cold hardy palms" but they are so much trouble as seedlings that now they arent considered so hardy. When they are the age yours is now, they are pretty hardy to just about anything from extreme heat to extreme drought to extreme cold. Only thing they dont like is too much water! I saw some beautiful ones in Balboa Park in San Diego, never seen an east coast one before though, the wet summers here are tough on desert plants like Nannorhops.

thats some good growth for just 6 years! i just planted 1 the same size as yours when you planted it. i hope mine has that much growth in 6 years too ,nice to know it made it through 2007 winter just recently planted! did it get any damage?
