Meditteranian Palm in stress help!

Hello everyone,

I was hoping you could take a look at my palm. It was planted about 2 months ago. We planted two, one on each side of the house. The soil has good drainage. The sister palm on the left side is going very well, but the one on the right is droopy and the green fruit it had as dried up and looks dead. I looks a little lop sided like it settled wrong. It gets water along with the other plants in the same area. I don't know whats wrong with it.

any ideas? The palms on the main truck seem to be the only ones affected, because the sucker palms growing from the base are perky and green. Should I prune the droopy stems?

Sometimes a palm goes into decline and you may be better off "carefully" slicing off the pups trying to save their tiny roots(baby palms)and gently potting them & rooting them in separate pots (bring in during the winter for faster growth)and planting them next year. Meanwhile see if this palm recovers and give it until October. What zone are you? Did you give this palm water at the start or maybe too much? It needs watreing 1x week during dry periods, during the summer ONLY.

It may just not have transplanted well. Unfortunately that can happen. I had two coconuts shipped from Hawaii in May of 2009. Both looked great when I got them. One made it and is going great to this day. The other did not. Sorry I can't be of more help but it sounds like they are both getting the exact same conditions.
