Do you have any close neighbors or family willing to stop by in your yard every 2 days or so to soak your plants for a few minutes? Thats probably your best bet. Look at your forecast and if there is a lot of rain in it, you could probably get away with putting your plants in complete shade (so they dont dry out) and letting mother nature take care of the rest.

Before Going away for a week in the summer, I would water my plants well for a few days in advanced. Then on day of departure, I'd water them so the saucer underneath would fill up. That would keep watering from below for days. From there they could make it until I returned.

The seeds should be fine even if they sprouted. Maybe move them into the shade.

Alex, I dont know my neighbors well enough for that and all of my family are over 300 miles away in Virginia. wetsuiter, Thats what I was thinking of doing,the saucer thing. I will take your advice and put the seeds in the shade while Im gone.

I would move everything into the shade if possible and give it a good soaking right before you leave. I do this all the time and never have any problems.
