Update on the Thai giant

I love watching this thing grow and unlike my Abyssinian

I can see all of this plant because it stays close to the ground.....

So far :twisted:

Heat wave building into the area for at least the next week-

can't wait to see some of the growth on this thing with

nighttime temps hovering around 80f the whole time.

Pretty cool event-the giant is growing new feet...

it grew out of a Nerf football sized bulb it produce last

year and now is growing some roots over the top of it!

Man, you got the biggest bananas and smallest cell phones. Talk about having the best of both worlds.lol

I thought about buying me one of these Thai giants.I've seen pictures where the leaves on a plant was about 6ft long by 4ft wide.I dont know if that's full grown or not.There very tropical looking,and I love tropical plants.I just dont know where I would put something that gets that big.How cold hardy are they Jim?Do they take a lot of fertilizer and water like Banana's do?

Thanks guys-

They can be kept drier but in this hot weather I
keep it watered to help it keep those big leaves going.

They should be kept drier in cooler temps for sure.

Don't know what they are rated exactly...guessing 7b
mulched and kept dry.
