Nice coconut! It seems like everybody's coconut is white and mine is brown. I wonder why?

Thanks Hunter M. Actually mine is a light grey brown color, I believe its the same color as all my other coconuts as well.

Hunter, my coconut does turn brown when wet, but I'm not sure why its white and yours is brown. Usually when I see coconuts sprouting in the tropics, they are brown, so Im not sure why mine is white (never really looked into that!).

Thanks guys! :) yeah, maybe yours is a different variety. It could be lighting as well, maybe thats why mine just looks lighter? I know some coconut fruits are different colors depending on variety, thats probably it though.

@ Hunter H- is your coco's stems green, or a goldish yellow?

@ chadec7a- Yeah, this one is really starting to take off, it should do fine there. There are many mature trees around. Some are at least 20ft tall.

You have the green variety. Mine is probably golden malayan because it has golden yellow stems.

@ jimhardy- The tall ones are apple bananas, they have small fruit but have an interesting taste; almost like they have a hint of apple.

Yes, It came from San Juan Puerto Rico.
