This old crepe has been around for many years & the s.moss also, in no way shape or form does it interfere with growth of leaf or flower, the tree is just be'in a friendly host!

The cotton crop is not affected by the drought as much but corn is a different story.

Lets all hope that you have a long wait till that trumpet blows. Love the overhead shots of the yard. Just can't get over how great that pindo looks. Also that drought map has me in the yellow up here in stokes county. Can't really believe that after all the rain we have had.

    Hello Dixieboy,

I love your pics...you know what a fan i am of yur yard!!!

    Always have been...

"OH, I wish i were in a land of cotton, old times there are not forgotten...look away, look away, look away Dixieland!!!"

I always think of that song every time i see your place down in NC. I just love the look and the history of the "South"

    Thanks for the Pictures...

Makes me soft for the "low country.." I love the look!

Here in VB, we dont have that "Low country" look..

BUT WE DO HAVE THE HEAT!!! YIKES!!! We are hurting from the lack of rain as well..

Ill have to post soem pics of my palms soon...

They did struggle this winter, but did comeback pretty strong..

    Take care, Dixieboy!!!

Fantastic photos as always! Hard to believe you are in the same state that also has some alpine/ subalpine and boreal forests. VA and NC are almost the perfect states for me because they both have the best of BOTH (northern and southern) worlds.

That sure is true but considering if you go west between Manteo & Murphy NC it's 543 miles, i hope something changes!! lol Thanks for the reply & compliments!

Cool pics, thanks for posting. I saw you mention "Murphy"... we go up there a lot. I saw a place not too far from there (maybe 40 miles south, near Amicololla falls)with some Windmill palms in the ground!
