Comment on my germination method

I planted some reportedly pure w. filifera seeds (I got them from a trusted and excellent source) grown in TX. This is how I did it. I soaked the seeds in warm water for almost 24 hours. I then placed them between a just damp paper towel, placed them in a ziplock baggie. The baggie was placed on top of a seed warming mat that raises temps 5-10 degrees. All of this was set up in my garage. My garage stays between 68*-75*. I have heard filiferas can be touchy to germinate if too moist. Please comment good or bad with my planing method.
