How cold does the garage get??

My garage temp drops down to 40 degrees F -- never gets to freezing.

I winter all of my windmill palms that are in pots in the garage and they do great. The only time they don't do well is when I don't water them enough, even in winter they need some water. The leaves start to clamp up to tell you when they need to be watered. FYI...I overwinter 6 potted windmills this way. My others are all overwintered and protected in the ground.

My 2 cents...If you have room inside near a sunny window, definately do it there. Why take a chance. Worry about protecting it next year. They do fine as indoor plants. I would worry more about not getting enough light. Definately do not overwinter in a pot outside.

Trachy fortunei will have absolutely not problem with a minimum of 40 F and some sun. In fact, I would say it would be healthier in you garage than your/our overheated and dry Winter homes.
