What was your first palm/tropical?

Hi. I am going to show you my first plant I ever got. It was a small coconut palm. I got it from ebay. The same seller that I got my tall one. Anyway here is my first palm I got:

I was really happy when I got it. It was exiting to own my very own palm tree. But sadly I made the mistake of shipping a coconut palm to Ohio 5b in mid January. It was dead the whole time, but it didnt show for a week or two. Here is what it looked like after a few weeks:

I was really sad when it died. And I was thrilled that my parents bought me a majesty palm after my coconut died. Here it is when I first got it:

This was my first, a Med fan mislabeled as a trachy that I bought on vacation in Topsail Island NC.

Here it is a couple of months ago, about 5 or 6 years later.

Looks great, I decided to buy some palms after a vacation to Florida in 2004. I'd been to Florida amny times but that time I decided I wanted to bring some of that look to my yard in the summer. I boughta Christmas palm and a Roebi. They did not do great as it was one of the coolest summers ever. They're gone but the passion remains.

Hey Hunter,

My first was a coconut palm too!

I fell in love with thm after a visit to San Juan to Liquillo Beach, which was an old Coconut Plam Plantation . They had palm trees growing right down in to the water all in rows and i will never forget the awe that struck me as i first layed my eyes on the "Forest of Palms..."

Then it didnt stop....

My first palm was a very small Queen palm that I got from Florida. Its still alive today 7 years later! Although my Dracaena was really my first plant. I got that one almost 10 years ago and it has always been an indoor plant.
