This is the whole plant

That's actually not a yucca, it is a Dracaena fragrant. They are shade loving plants so I think you might have it in too much sun. It looks pretty healthy though, just a little stressed so I would move it into shade and see how it responds in a couple of weeks! They make great indoor plants so it will have no problem going back inside when winter comes. I have had one inside a bright room for the past 15 years and it never has any problems there.

So, I was looking at pictures and it seems that the stalk looks much thicker than mine. Or just a variation?

Same species of Dracaena fragrans, just a younger plant. The older plants have thicker trunks.

I don't know why they sell plants without putting the names on the tags!

When I bought this, the guy told me it was an ereca palm. I quickly realized this was wrong after I googled it.

I figure it is either a ponytail palm or yucca. I am confused about the lack of trunk...is that an age thing? Anyone know what type of plant this is?

Rio, the palm in the photo above is Dypsis lutescens (aka., Areca Palm). Palms within the true genus 'Areca' (yours is not), are much less commonly sold. But, w.i. the plant trade, yours still goes by the old name, Areca palm.

All juvenile palms look like tufts of grass, the trucks develop with maturity.

P.S., Putting no label on a plant may be preferable to putting the wrong one on it (which also occurs).

I am new to houseplants so I am not sure how it will all work out. Although this little plant appears to be happy so far.

I have had this Areca Palm for a month, maybe a little more, and it appears to be growing.

It's actually probably 4 separate palms... bit too young to be suckering yet.

This corn plant is 20 years old, why is the trunk still so thin?
