Hi Lulu, I will give you a method which works well for me. First, remove the fruit from the seed. Soak the seed in water for 48 to 72 hours changing the water once a day. Using a ziplock bag,and sphagnum peat moss(canadian blend) Soak the peat in water and squeeze it very well until only a drop or two falls from your hand. Put it in the baggie and shake it around until it losens up. Take your seeds out of water and let them get somewhat dry and add them to the peat in the baggie and put them someplace warm, most people suggest top of fridge or hot water heater. Do not place in sun! You could see germination in a few weeks, sometimes much longer. After you have a nice size sprout, pot it up. I usually wait until the root is pretty descent size before I pot it. The more seeds, the more peat needed. You want the seeds to be covered with moist peat. They do not require any sun to sprout. You may have to moisten peat again before all seeds sprout. Use a spray bottle for that. Some people spray them with a fungicide and or bleach, but I very seldom do and have good germination rate. Once you figure this out, you will become a palmahaulic and require treatment, but nothing has been found or proven to be effective in curing the new illness! Best of luck!
