It's possible that it was in too much sun so it got a bit of sun damage. It doesn't look like it's going downhill based on the way the pattern of the damage is, so as long as you keep giving it good care, it will bounce back in no time. You can cut off the dead tips to make it look a little nicer.

I concur with Alex.

As the dried out leaf tips are concentrated in one part of the leaf, it probably was sun damage. Dried leaf tips all over a frond usually mean the roots went too dry for a period, and can be trimmed off, as it looks like all the other leaf tips have been trimmed off to groom it at some point. This species loves lots of water, in general, and will accomodate to full sun here in California conditions if done slowly by degrees to avoid burning the foliage.

I've since trimmed the fronds, kept him better watered, and fed him some palm food. He's looking great and has some new spikes!
