Majesty palm (Ravenea rivularis). These palms need light and humidity to do well. Keep it outside in the shade as much as possible. Also you can stick it in the bathroom to get humidity from the bath/shower. Not the best house plant, but others have kept them alive so i know its possible.

I just found the plant care card. Indeed a Majesty Palm. This is a picture of the most damaged frond. I think the cause may be under-watering because I was only using about 32 ounces once a week. I just figured out that over-watering refers to the frequency of watering so I watered until the saucer filled up and drained it. If you have any other input as to what might be causing the damage please fill me in. Thank you kindly!

as mentioned already, these suck as indoor plants, but are so incredibly cheap, no one seems to care. Without significant outdoor time, most of these just go dowhhill and die, no matter what you do (unless you have a greenhouse). Watch for spider mites as they LOVE this plant indoors. Hard to overwater one of these... you can even grow these in standing water... outdoors.

Majesty palms are definitely not the best indoor palms. They can do well though depending on how they are grown prior to purchase (sometimes they are grown out in so much shade to make them appear bigger that they actually are very weak and do terrible after you buy them). I've had luck with them indoors by keeping them very moist, but I only keep mine indoors for the winter, I don't know how they would handle being indoors all year long.
